Deciding upon the best school for your child is an important decision. All children are different and each school has a different ethos or feel. We always encourage parents to consider as many schools as possible.  This enables parents to decide upon the best possible environment in which they believe their child will thrive.

The school traditionally draws its children from the parishes of Whitchurch and Halford, and the villages of Tredington, Newbold, Blackwell, Armscote and Crimscote.   However we also accept children from outside this immediate area, depending on places being available.

We are a Warwickshire County Council maintained school, which means that all admissions are organised through the Council.

Applying for a place at Newbold and Tredington C of E Primary School is a straightforward process, whether you are moving into the area, moving from another local school, or applying for a Reception class place.

Applying for a Reception Class place:

If your child was born between the 1st September 2019 and the 31st August 2020 they are due to start school in September 2023. Warwickshire residents can make an online application at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/admissions. You can also apply by calling 01926 742037 or 01926 742047. The deadline for making an on-time application is at 5pm 15th January 2024.

Generally all Reception children begin school full time on the first day of the autumn term.  If parents feel their child would benefit initially from half day schooling this can be arranged.

If you are resident in another local authority you will need to apply to your home authority.

Applying for a transfer during other year groups:

If you are planning on moving into our priority area, or are considering a move from another local school, the Admissions department at Warwickshire County Council (see above) will be able to tell you if we have places in your child’s year group. Alternatively, you can call the school (01608 661568).
