Safeguarding
Safeguarding children is of paramount importance to us at Newbold and Tredington and is the responsibility of every adult within our school community.
What is Early Support?
Early Support is the help offered to potentially vulnerable children, young people and their families.
The purpose of Early Support is to put in the right support at the right time so that problems are less likely to escalate to a point where the child becomes vulnerable or in need. Early Support is sustainable so that problems are less likely to re-occur.
Early Support does not always mean early years. While research does show that most impact can be made in those crucial first few years of a child’s life, Early Support can be needed and put in place at any time and at any age.
All children, young people and families in Warwickshire are entitled to receive Early Support. This means offering information, advice, guidance, and support to families as soon as a concern emerges, or seems likely to emerge.
From March 2025 the 'Front Door ' will be known as Family Connect. The team consists of multi-disciplinary professionals, who will provide advice and support to other professionals
The Fosse Multi Academy Trust follows Warwickshire's Families First Strategy and Spectrum of Support.

If you have any concerns about the welfare of any child in our school, please contact one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads.
‘Under the Education Act 2002 (Section 175), schools must make arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Parent/carers should know that the law (Children Act 2006) requires all school staff to pass on information which gives rise to a concern about a child’s welfare, including risk from neglect, physical, emotional or sexual abuse. The staff will seek, in general, to discuss any concerns with the parent/carer, and where possible, seek their consent to a referral to Social Care. This will only be done where such discussion will not place the child at increased risk of significant harm. Schools will seek advice from Social Care when they have reasonable cause to suspect a child may be suffering or likely to suffer significant harm. Occasionally, concerns are passed on which are later shown to be unfounded. Parents/carers will appreciate that the designated person for child protection was carrying out their responsibilities in accordance with the law and acting in the best interests of all children.’

As part of Newbold and Tredington C of E Primary School's commitment to safeguarding and child protection we support the Government's Prevent Strategy, and take guidance to help build resilience to extremism.
The Prevent Strategy is a Government Strategy designed to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. It:
• responds to the ideological challenge we face from terrorism and aspects of extremism, and the threat we face from those who promote these views.
• provides practical help to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism and ensure they are given appropriate advice and support.
• works with a wide range of sectors (including education, criminal justice, faith, charities, online and health).
The Headteacher and a Senior Leader has been trained by Warwickshire and West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Safeguarding Children Board, and is staff regarding Prevent.
At Newbold and Tredington C of E we provide a broad and balanced that our children recognise and respect diversity and difference, and feel valued members of our school community. We are aware that children can be exposed to extremist influences or prejudiced views from early childhood through a variety of sources.
Any discrimination, prejudice or extremist views, including offensive language, shown by pupils or staff will be dealt with in line with our Behaviour Policy and Staff Code of Conduct, and will always be addressed.
