What is Times Table Rockstars?

In either paper form or online, Times Tables Rock Stars and its sister programme Numbots is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables or number bonds practice.

Each week concentrates on a different times table, with a recommended consolidation week for rehearsing the tables that have recently been practised every third week or so.

Teachers set children appropriate multiplication tables or challenges on Numbots and expect them to practise these at home using the different formats on the app/website (Soundcheck, Studio, Gig, Jamming).

Teachers regularly assess the children’s progress through their tables or number facts and adjust their challenges accordingly.

According to the National Curriculum, all children by the end of Year 4 are expected to recall all of the multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12 off by heart. To practise towards this, teachers allocate time during the school week to use Times Table Rockstars however additional practise at home is essential for children to secure these facts.
